Plans are afoot for screenings and events in Washington DC, Philadelphia and New York in conjunction with The Smithsonian’s Jazz Appreciation month in April 2010. Watch this space!

Dundee Science Centre will present two screenings of ‘Martino Unstrung’, as part of The Wellcome Trust’s ‘IDENTITY’ season, at Dundee Centre of the Arts (DCA) on Feb. 18th at 1.00pm & 6.00pm. Ian Knox and Paul Broks will be present for Q&A following screenings.

“Martino Unstrung is one of the best documentaries about a jazz musician. Ian Knox is a terrific director. The film is spellbinding from beginning to end. It offers a moving, intimate portrayal of Martino as a person, a musical icon and someone who had undergone a traumatic loss of memory and made a miraculous recovery. It’s a deeply personal testament.” – All About Jazz – read full review here.

MARTINO UNSTRUNG has just been selected by the Paso Robles Digital Film Festival, which will take place in November 2008 in California.

Ian Knox will introduce the film on Saturday 24th Oct. at the Barcelona Music Documentary Festival and will do Q&A after the screening. He will also be present in Seattle the following week for six screenings over three nights at Earshot Jazz Festival by Northwest Film Forum. The film will screen at 7.30pm and 9.30pm on 1st, 2nd and 3rd November. Paul Broks will not be in attendance due to the final week of rehearsals of his new play ‘On Emotion’ which will open at The Soho Theatre in London.
